Would you like to serve on the Board of Directors of Vibrant Communities Calgary? The VCC Nominating Committee is seeking nominees for the Board to fill upcoming vacancies. The Committee specifically seeks candidates with expertise in health care, finance, and communications and marketing.
Vibrant Communities Calgary (VCC) is a non-profit organization that works collaboratively with stakeholders and partners to engage Calgarians and to advocate for long-term strategies that address the root causes of poverty in Calgary. VCC is the steward of the Enough for All Strategy, working to make poverty history in Calgary. It aims to ensure that Calgary is a strong, supportive, and inclusive community, where everyone has sufficient income and assets to thrive, and where all Indigenous people are co-creators of Calgary's future.
The Board of Directors meets 5 times per year on the last Wednesday of the month from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Board members are also expected to sit on committees, which typically meet 5 times per year ahead of Board meetings. They are actively encouraged to participate in poverty reduction activities and attend VCC events. The total time commitment per month is approximately 10 hours.
