With the municipal election approaching, the Calgary Chamber released its municipal election platform, which was informed by surveys, roundtables and "countless conversations" with folks, including Vibrant Communities Calgary. VCC released our election platform earlier this year. It is quoted in this article, "cost-of-living increases, a lack of adequate housing, and wider geopolitical issues are making life less affordable for all Calgarians."
The Your Voice, Our Future report highlights housing, education, and employment as top of mind for Calgarians. Jaclyn Silbernagel, Director of Community Engagement, spoke with CityNews Calgary saying, "What was really pressing for people, and I don’t think it’ll be very surprising, is housing affordability. The cost of food, but access to education and of course access to meaningful employment, were really top-line concerns."
