'Enough for all': Advocates pleased to see social spending in Calgary budget

VCC says new money will go a long way to getting the best information for data-based policy decisions when dealing with poverty, mental health and addictions

Advocates for Calgary’s most vulnerable populations are applauding a City of Calgary plan to allocate one-time contributions to community partners and initiatives. VCC's Meaghon Reid discussed the budget with the Calgary Herald.

“We’ve been saying that this is really an ‘enough for all’ budget, and we’re really pleased to see that. It’s going to give us the ability to really put more resources into community-based research to really understand how poverty in Calgary is looking and feeling right now," she said.
