Hanna is a Registered Social Worker with experience working within the homeless sector, employment services for justice-involved adults, and permanent supportive housing. She is an event manager for the Calgary Pop-Up Care Village, a low-barrier festival for anyone facing systemic vulnerabilities including homelessness, addiction, food insecurity, mental health issues, poverty, language and cultural barriers, among others. Originally from Labrador, Hanna is of NunatuKavut Inuit descent. She has lived in Calgary since 2016, it was then that she was exposed to the realities of poverty at the urban level and therefore sparked a passion for advocacy and social justice. Recognizing the significance of elevating the voices of individuals with lived experiences, Hanna strives to amplify their narratives to reach communities and policy-makers. Her passion lies in discovering innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by marginalized populations, thus, she co-founded RadiCalgary.
