Almost 20 years in a gang led to nothing but crime, violence, and addiction for Sidney. But then, in 2007, he had a son, Sidney Jr. and Sidney knew things had to change. But before he could find a way out, Sidney was shot twice, rendering him a paraplegic.
Though traumatic, Sidney considers this to be the best thing that could have happened to him. His injury got him into witness protection, led to getting sober, and receiving full custody of his son, now 10 years old.
