About 50,000 Albertans are expected to transition to the province’s new Alberta Disability Assistance Program (ADAP) when it launches in July, under filed regulations setting benefit amounts, eligibility rules and employment-related provisions for the program.
The province says about 30,000 current AISH clients will automatically remain on the Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped program, which will continue for Albertans whose severe disabilities permanently prevent employment.
