"Before the pandemic, we knew that there were 189,000 Calgarians that lived in poverty and we know that there is a lot more people who live in poverty now."

Energy poverty is a growing concern. Shelter is a priority over food.

"We have a lot of Calgarians making decisions between heat and eat, and that's a real problem."

"We are seeing an increase in the number of food assistance providers across the city. The rate of those organizations have skyrocketed as well as usage."
